Simple Floral Birthday Card Idea with the Lovely Blossoms Suite

If you love creating elegant handmade birthday cards with floral paper and layered die cuts, today’s project is a beautiful example of how simple layouts can still feel detailed and polished. This birthday card was created using the Lovely Blossoms Suite from Stampin’ Up, paired with the soft and classic color combination of Secret Sea and Petal Pink, making it perfect for birthdays, spring celebrations, or anyone who loves florals.

One of the things I enjoy most about this design is how the patterned paper does much of the creative work for you. The floral background instantly creates interest and movement, while the deep Secret Sea card base frames everything and gives the softer tones a little extra richness. When you start with a strong paper design like this, the rest of the card comes together quickly.

To build the focal point, I layered coordinating stamped & die cut flowers directly over the patterned background, letting some of the printed florals peek through while adding just enough dimension to make the card feel special. Using Petal Pink, I stamped the outline. I then “filled it in”using a bit of Petal Pink on a Sponge dauber.

I also love how this color pairing feels both modern and timeless. Secret Sea adds a strong foundation, while Petal Pink keeps the card warm and inviting, making it a wonderful choice for birthday cards that can be used year round.
