A Sweet and Simple Birthday Card with the Cake Day Bundle

If you love cards that feel fun and a little whimsical, today’s project is going to make you smile. I reached for the Cake Day Bundle from Stampin’ Up because it delivers those cute bakery vibes without making the process complicated. This is one of those cards that feels impressive but still works beautifully for a quick crafting session after a long day. It also happens to be one of my favorite color combos right now. Strawberry Slush with Early Espresso and a pop of Basic White brings the perfect mix of playful and bold.

The cake panel became the star of the show, but it has a little surprise built in. The cake actually opens up, revealing a space inside for stamping a greeting or adding a personal note. I stamped a bright Happy Birthday inside, along with a couple of cheerful bursts in Strawberry Slush, and it adds such a fun interactive moment when the card is opened. Little touches like this make handmade cards feel extra special.

To build that cute cake front, I layered the Cake Day images and played with different textures. The stamped sprinkles and frosting details come together so easily and give the whole card that bakery-fresh look. I added a few accents in Memento Tuxedo Black for crisp outlines that pop against the brighter colors.

The background pulls everything together. I used the On the Go Designer Series Paper and the plaid pattern was just right for this happy birthday theme. Once the layers were in place, I added a few Strawberry Slush Gems for sparkle. They blend beautifully with the color palette and give the design that final sweet touch. I love embellishments that highlight the card without taking over, and these do exactly that.
