Brighten Someone’s Day with This Handmade Floral Card

Need a quick but stunning card to brighten someone’s day? Today I’m sharing a handmade floral card that I absolutely loved creating—and I think you will too!

I started with a vibrant piece of the Mixed Media Florals Designer Series Paper from Stampin’ Up. This paper practically does the work for you with its watercolor-style flowers bursting with color and life. It was the perfect focal point for my card sketch, which I shared  yesterday on my Instagram and Facebook page.

For the sentiment, I went with one of my all-time favorites: “Consider this a paper hug” from the Paper Tags Stamp Set. Isn’t that just the sweetest way to let someone know you’re thinking of them? I stamped it in Poppy Parade ink to match the bold card base and really make it pop.

To add extra texture, I used the Eyelet 3D Embossing Folder on the Basic White layer. I love how the subtle pattern brings even more floral goodness to the design without overwhelming it. A few layers of Basic Black cardstock added that perfect frame for all the colorful details.

Of course, I couldn’t resist adding a little sparkle! I tied a simple bow using the White Woven Ribbon and sprinkled on a few clear gems from the Strawberry Slush & Pretty In Pink Gems.

I adore how this card turned out: it’s bright, cheerful, and so easy to put together thanks to the beautiful DSP and a simple sketch. If you want to recreate it, check out the clickable supply list below!
