Dimension with Die Cuts: A Happy Card for Any Occasion

Die cuts are a fantastic way to add dimension and wow-factor to your handmade cards. If you’ve never tried die cutting before, you’re in for a treat! For today’s project, I’ll be showing you how to use dies to add layers to your cards. Let me show you what I made!

This card is super simple! We start by using the Scalloped Contours dies from Stampin’ Up!  These dies are perfect for adding a classic, elegant touch to your cards, and they coordinate with the Color & Contour stamp set (which is unfortunately already sold out).

The Scalloped Contours Dies include dies to cut out your floral shapes, and scalloped border dies for all your decorating desires! The scalloped edge borders in this set range in size, allowing you to decorate a card front or create scalloped labels for your sentiments. And look at all you could layer!

Dies help you create unique die-cut shapes and paper cutouts with just a quick run through your Stampin’ Cut & Emboss Machine.

Die cutting allows you to create a variety of shapes and sizes with perfect precision. It’s a great way to achieve a polished, professional look on your cards, even for beginners. Here are some of the other benefits of die cutting:

  • Versatility: You can use dies to cut out all sorts of shapes, from letters and numbers to flowers, animals, and geometric designs.
  • Precision: Dies cut clean, crisp lines, which is especially important for intricate designs.
  • Layering: Die cuts can be layered to create dimension and add visual interest to your cards. Like on today’s card!
  • Time-saving: Dies can help you quickly and easily create uniform shapes, which can save you time on your cardmaking projects.

Remember, the Scalloped Contours dies are retiring on May 1st!  Don’t miss your chance to get your hands on this versatile die set before it’s gone.  The Last Chance Products Sale starts April 9th, so be sure to visit my Stampin’ Up! online store to see what other retiring products you can snag before they’re gone!

I hope this blog post has inspired you to try die cutting on your next handmade card project. Die cuts are a fun and easy way to add dimension and pizzazz to your cards, and the possibilities are endless!  Happy stamping!
