Adding Color to an Embossed Background

Spring has sprung (well, almost!), and I’m feeling all kinds of inspired by the blooming flowers and fresh air. Today’s card features the beautiful Countryside Blossoms Embossing Folder, which is perfect for adding a touch of rustic elegance to your projects. Let’s see how to add some color to it!

But before we get to embossing, let’s talk about the background! I wanted an even layer of color on the background. That’s where my trusty brayer came in.

For those of you who haven’t used a brayer before, it’s basically a roller tool that allows you to apply ink evenly across the surface you’re adding color to.  In this case, I used a layer of Shaded Spruce ink to create a bold, vibrant backdrop.

Want to see exactly how I used the brayer to achieve this effect?  Head over to my YouTube channel  for a full video tutorial that walks you step-by-step through the entire card creation process!

This card uses the Countryside Blossoms Embossing Folder which is retiring on May 1st (or while supplies last), so if you’ve been eyeing it, now’s the time to grab it before it’s gone!

I also colored a bit of Gingham Ribbon and some Basic Rhinestones with my Shaded Spruce Stampin Blends. See all that in the video!
