Watercolor Wash Technique
Let’s do a little watercoloring! The Watercolor Wash Technique is an easy way to add a pop of color to your projects. My favorite part of this technique, is that it looks different every single time. Read on to see how easy it is to get a beautiful watercolor background!

For this technique you’ll need:
- Watercolor Paper
- Water Painters
- Ink pads
- A paper towel
You start by adding a bit of water from your water painter to your watercolor paper. Squeeze your ink pad to get a bit of ink into the lid. Mix the ink in the lid with a little water from the painter and “wash” it over your paper.
Here I used 3 different colors. Berry Burst, Fresh Freesia and Bubble Bath. You can use whatever colors you’d like to get a totally unique effect!

I embossed the Berry Burst layer of cardstock with the Painted Textures 3D Embossing Folder. The flower and sentiment come from the Color & Contour stamp set. A few Classic Matte Dots finish this card.

I’ve created a video showing exactly how to do this technique over in the SassyPaperCrafters VIP Group on Facebook. I’ve also created a free PDF there with all the supplies and measurements. If you’re not currently a Stampin’ Up Demonstrator, come join us!

I hope you enjoyed learning about the watercolor wash technique and you’re inspired you to use this technique on your projects! Be sure to check out the supply list below. Happy Stamping!
